Our library consists of a comprehensive and growing collection of important texts and original works dealing with yoga philosophy, the practice of yoga, Indian philosophy, Buddhist Yoga, Taoist Yoga, Christian mysticism, Tantra, Esoteric traditions, Yoga Therapy, and Experimental Yoga.
Some of the important first editions we have include:
- The first English translation of the Bhagavad Gita by Wilkins (1785)
- The Secret Doctrine Volumes 1, 2, and 3 by Madame Blavatsky (1888)
- Several first edition copies of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda (1946)
- The Yoga-Sutra of Patanjali by Dvivedi (1890)
- Yoga System of Patanjali by Woods (1914)
- Tantra of Great Liberation by Avalon (1913)
We are also continuously adding to our collection of scanned works, especially rare and delicate manuscripts, including palm leaf documents, for student research. Our online library offering many of these pieces alongside other public domain works is scheduled to be open to the public in the fall.
